Ballater Place playground renewal

Location: Ballater Place, Highland Park

The existing playground will be renewed. View our design drawings (PDF 419kb).

Status: works have begun, completion scheduled for June 2010.

Lloyd Elsmore Park athletics track

Lloyd Elsmore Park synthetic athletics track.

Location: 2R Bells Road, Pakuranga

This project involved the construction of a new athletics track with a synthetic surface.

Status: completed.

Lloyd Elsmore Park netball court development

Location: off Sir Lloyd Drive, Pakuranga

Stage 1

This project will see the development of additional netball courts and associated car parking.

Status: physical works are scheduled to be completed by June 2010.

Stage 2

Stage 2 sees the addition of six new courts to the netball complex.

Status: Detailed designs are being prepared. Physical works anticipated to commence in November 2010.

Lloyd Elsmore Park traffic improvements

Location: Sir Lloyd Drive, Pakuranga

Work is due to commence in September on traffic improvements around the netball courts, old depot and swimming pool. Further carparks will also be added.

Status: in the detailed design phase. Work is scheduled to commence in September 2010.

Rotary walkway footpath widening

Location: Rotary Walkway: Bramley Drive, Arkley Avenue, Davita Place and Estelle Place, Pakuranga

This project involves the widening of the existing narrow concrete walkway to two metres in width.

Stage1-Section A1

Footpath between Farm Cove Reserve (1km) and the existing bridge.

Status: Physical works completed end of January 2010.

Stage3-Section B

Footpath between 93R and 125R Fisher parade (450m) and timber retaining wall (133m).

Status: Under construction, delays due to weather, completion early September 2010.

Stage2-Section A2

Footpath between Farm Cove Reserve near Estelle Place and Rappallo Place (300m), timber retaining wall (60m) and upgrade of a bridge.

Status: Construction underway, completion mid-September 2010.

Rotary walkway snakes and ladders playground development

Bramley Drive playground

Location: Rotary walkway: Farm Cove Reserve, 38R Bramley Drive, Pakuranga

This project involved the development of a new playground on a steep bank. The playground reflects a snakes and ladders design theme where four slides, stepping beams and ladders recreate the children's game. Native planting is intermixed through the play area to tie in with the natural coastal setting.

Status: project completed.

Takutai Boardwalk

Location: Little Bucklands Beach to Takutai Avenue, Half Moon Bay

Work has commenced on a timber piled pedestrian/cycle boardwalk to improve access to the coastal environment and Half Moon Bay ferry and bus station.

The boardwalk starts on the foreshore at Little Bucklands Beach and closely follows the existing banks. It will also connect to Te Akau Crescent and the existing footpath at the end of The Parade.

Status: Physical works are underway, completion expected October 2010.
