Puhinui Reserve.

Puhinui Reserve.

Ecological Bush * Walkway / Cycle Track

At 199 hectares of rural landscape, Puhinui Reserve occupies the southern portion of the Puhinui Peninsula. It forms a major component of the Gateway Heritage area of Manukau and has considerable historic, conservation and cultural amenity value.

The reserve forms part of the extensive Matukuturua volcanic field and is linked with pre-European settlements centred around Wiri Mountain and Matukutura (McLaughlins Mountain).

Visitors can experience the pleasures of both rural countryside and views of Manukau Harbour on easy walkways. The reserve is a 15 minute drive from the Manukau city centre.

The reserve is a popular destination for organised walking and tramping groups. Mountain biking is permitted on the cycle track.
