Walkways * Ecological Bush
A contrasting landscape of ridge tops, gullies and beach hinterland, Macleans Park is the largest passive recreation reserve in the Pakuranga / Howick area.
The reserve has network of well maintained pathways for walkers, joggers and dog exercise. There are wide open pasture areas as well as planted gullies to enjoy.
There are vantage points from which commanding views of sea and foreshore may be had. They are also the areas on which the afternoon sun will linger. Being bare they are often windswept, especially by any winds from the east.
A large flat area with reasonable shelter from the easterly winds which, with the gullies fingering up into the slopes, provides an alternative to the beach on those days when winds make the seashore unwelcome.
