Manukau City Council's District Plan contains rules on what can or can't be done on our parks. These are called bylaws.
The consequences for not complying with a rule range from fines, seizure of property and remedial action.
The bylaws for Manukau City are made by Manukau City Council mainly using powers contained in the Local Government Act 2002.
The District Plan chapters containing bylaws which are relevant to parks are the following:
- Chapter 05: Construction, Development, Street Damage and Vehicle Crossings
- Chapter 06: Dog Control
- Chapter 07: Events and Trading in Parks and Public Places
- Chapter 09: General Nuisance Safety and Behaviour in Parks and Public Places
- Chapter 11: Liquor Control
- Chapter 19: Temporary Signs
- Chapter 20: Waste Management
