Coordinator of youth workers
The coordinator works to develop as well as improve communication among community based youth workers aligned to the Youth Gang Contracts in the Manukau and Otahuhu communities.
The service providers include:
- Genesis Youth Trust
- II M.U.C.H Trust
- Tamaki ki Raro Charitable Trust
- Counties Manukau Sport Foundation
- Māori Women's Welfare League
- 274 Youthcore.
The role of the coordinator includes:
- Coordinating the youth gang service provider network meetings
- Support the professional development of community based youth workers aligned to the youth gang contracts
- Establish strong links with youth workers, youth action teams and the youth offending teams in the Manukau and Otahuhu area
- Attend key regional and national youth worker networks to ensure the dissemination of information is consistent
- Encourage the principles and goals of the Youth Strategy of Aotearoa are implemented in youth work across Manukau and Otahuhu.
