Key activities
- Database of drug and alcohol services, social service agencies and youth orientated services

- Advocate and provide input into policy development through submissions and/or recommendations to local and central government bodies
- Establish and support working groups to develop community initiatives
- Develop and implement initiatives that communicate messages which challenge the “norms” of drug use
- Design and carry out research to develop best practice models that support broad based prevention/early intervention that can be disseminated for use
- Brief intervention training, facilitation and/or presentations that impact systematic change when dealing with harm reduction issues
- Collaborative projects or actions with or between agencies to improve harm minimisation skills for families.
Reports
A 40-page report, ‘Alcohol and Drug Policies and Practices - Research on Sports Clubs in New Zealand’, was launched by CAYAD at the 2011 Sport and Alcohol Conference.
A questionnaire was sent to 15 representative sports clubs, each identified as having made positive steps towards the reduction of alcohol and drug related harm.
