Manukau Festival of Arts.

When: 15 - 31 October 2010
Where: Various venues around Manukau

The third Manukau Festival of Arts promises to be a great platform to showcase and celebrate Manukau’s arts and artists, giving the community a chance to enjoy the amazing talents of our people.

Incorporating a wide range of art forms and practices, the festival embraces visual and performing arts, international and local, professional and community performers, and traditional, contemporary and urban expressions.

Long-running Manukau events such as the wonderfully theatrical Villa Maria Cult-Couture fashion design awards and the OBJECTive Art Awards will again feature as part of the festival, along with newer events such as the second Southside Gig and exciting one-off feature events.

Visual arts exhibitions will feature at galleries across with city, including Fresh Gallery Otara, the new Mangere Arts Centre - Nga Tohu o Uenuku, Nathan Homestead in Manurewa, Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts in Pakuranga and Uxbridge, Howick’s Creative Centre.

The full programme for Manukau Festival of Arts will be available in August and can be found in all Manukau arts centres or at www.mfa.org.nz

Take advantage of the incredible amount of creativity on show in the Manukau Festival of Arts 2010 - observe, participate and enjoy.
