Waste Management Plan
The 
Waste Management Plan (PDF 2.82mb) sets out our commitment to reducing waste volume, encouraging the re-use of material, and providing opportunities for recycling.
One of council's goals is for Manukau to become a city that embraces the principles of sustainability through waste avoidance and minimisation.
The Waste Management Plan has two objectives:
- To promote effective and efficient waste management in Manukau
- To minimise the quantity of waste being generated and disposed of, in order to promote the sustainable use of both natural and physical resources.
Waste Management Bylaw
The objectives of council's Waste Management Bylaw (PDF 113kb) are to:
- Ensure effective and efficient waste management in Manukau
- Ensure minimum obstruction to the streets of Manukau
- Regulate the collection and disposal of refuse and reduce the quantity of waste generated and disposed of in Manukau city.
