What time should I put my rubbish out?

Your rubbish should be kerbside by 7am on your collection day.

To prevent dogs destroying the rubbish bags and spreading litter, please do not put your rubbish out the night before.

Where should I put my rubbish?

Put all rubbish at the kerbside with your recycling bin ensuring they are clear of the footpaths and driveways.

What rubbish can I put out for collection?

  • Everyday household rubbish such as plastic wrapping and packaging
  • Household food scraps and disposable nappies (please wrap in newspaper)
  • Broken glass, crockery or sharp objects (please wrap in newspaper)
  •  Light bulbs (please wrap in newspaper).

What can I put my rubbish in?

  • Paper Kleensacs
  • Heavy-duty plastic rubbish bags made specifically for containing household rubbish
  • A tapered metal or plastic rubbish bin with close fitting lid and handles.

Is there a size or weight restriction for rubbish?

Each bag or bin should be no larger than 60 litres and no heavier than 18kg.

Why wasn't my rubbish collected?

  • Your rubbish may not have been out by 7am on collection day
  • The rubbish bag/bin may have been too heavy (heavier than the 18kg limit)
  • Broken bags or damaged bins may not be picked up
  • Dangerous rubbish such as unwrapped broken glass may not be collected either. If in doubt, please wrap it up
  • We don't collect rubbish wheelie bins. Please arrange their collection with a private contractor.
