The Botanic Garden Festival is an opportunity for you to get back to basics with your family at a free event.

Celebrate Mother Nature surrounded by the most stunning gardens in the region.

The Botanic Garden Festival is an opportunity for you to get back to basics with your family at a FREE event.

The festival includes:

  • Fantastic speakers
  • Learn more about NZ natives
  • Giant sized games
  • Learn more about weird and wonderful bugs
  • Pumpkin rolling
  • Face painting
  • World balloon hat record attempt
  • Orienteering
  • Toddlers' Day on Saturday 13 February - meet those who provide early childhood care and education and kids will be entertained with games
  • Movie night in the park on Saturday 13 February.  Ice Age will be screened at 3.30pm and Night at the Museum 2 at 5.45pm.

Come along to the event with your water bottle and fill up at one of the stations.

It's all about experiencing what nature has to offer and bringing your family along to a fun-packed amazing weekend - which is absolutely free!
