Auckland regional cycle network
Auckland's councils are working together to introduce an integrated and comprehensive network of safe and connected cycle routes. The New Zealand Transport Authority supports this project and provides financial support for construction. The network of regional routes incorporates the majority of routes identified in the Manukau Cycle and Walking Strategy.
Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) has a Sustainable Transport Plan, a 10-year programme for improving walking and cycling, and for developing travel plans with schools, workplaces and neighbourhoods. It also includes a detailed plan for the future Auckland Regional Cycle Network.
