Paparoa Cemetery, located at the corner of Paparoa Road and Litten Road, is managed by Manukau Memorial Gardens.
The cemetery was opened in 1924. In 1972, the columbarium was built as a repository for the ashes of loved ones after cremation.
The cemetery is now closed to new burial plots. There are however, still niches in the columbarium wall for families who wish to inter the ashes of loved ones. Within the columbarium complex there is a designated area for the returned services.
In 2002 the camellia gardens area was opened and the recently completed Howick Memorial Garden provides another peaceful area for families who prefer to bury their loved one’s ashes.
Manukau Memorial Gardens are now handling all enquiries for Paparoa Cemetery and Howick Columbarium.
