Alcohol strategy.

We are currently reviewing our Alcohol Strategy. The review will focus on how council will use its regulatory powers on the following issues:

• Liquor licensing
• Liquor bans
• Advocacy to central government for legislative change.

Manukau City Council is reviewing the strategy with the help of the Alcohol Advisory Council (ALAC). ALAC is conducting research on the problems associated with liquor outlets and the impacts of different types of outlets.

ALAC’s research will inform any proposed changes to our liquor licensing policy.
