1. I can't find my property on the system
   • Check that you have used the correct spelling of your property in the search box
   • Ensure that you do not include commas in your search
   • Make sure that your property falls within the boundaries of Manukau City (PDF 887kb).
2. I can view information about my property, but the map is not available

   In some instances, the council only has written information about a property, but not Geo-Spatial (images) information about the property. This site only displays information available to the council.

3. I think the details on the system for my property is incorrect

   For enquiries relating to property information, please visit the council's rates information page.

4. Can I use the information provided online in replacement of a LIM report?

   No. The information on the site is provided for information purposes only, and does not replace any official council documentation or professional advice.

   Manukau City Council does not invite any visitor to this website to act or omit an action based upon any information within this website. The use of any such information is entirely at the visitor's own risk and discretion.

5. The aerial photography on the site is out of date

   Aerial photography is updated on a periodic basis and provided to the council by an external service provider. The refresh of aerial photography will be completed as soon as practicable when it is made available to the council.

6. How often is information updated?

   The information on the site is updated as soon as practicable when it is made available to the council (Section 28C (3) of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002). In most cases, this would be within 5 working days of the information being available to the council.

7. Why do my rates differ to my neighbour's rates?

8. Why does my valuation differ to neighbour's property?

9. How do I check if I am up to date on my rates payments?

   This system does not provide information relating to financial transactions. For more information about rates, please visit the rates information page.

10. Why can't I see the property owner's details via the internet (name and contact address)?

    According to Section 28(2) of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002, the property owner's details (name and contact address) should not be provided via the Rating Information Database (which is one of the purposes of this system) on the internet.

11. How can I view a property owner's details?

    According to Section 28A (2.a.i) of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002, the property owner's details (name and contact address) can be provided via the 'Complete Rating Information Database' (CRID). This is located at our customer centre, Kotuku House, 4 Osterley Way, Manukau City Centre.

12. I did not give permission for my property to be viewed

    Section 27(3) of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 allows information about properties to be provided for the following purposes:

    • to record all information required for setting and assessing rates; and
    • to enable a local authority to communicate with ratepayers; and
    • to enable members of the public to have reasonable access to the information in the database relating to the calculation of liability for rates.
13. How can I stop my personal details being provided?

    A ratepayer can at any time request their name and postal address to be withheld from publication in the Complete Rating Information Database' (CRID). They can also decide to withhold just one of the above (so they can request that their name be published and their postal address withheld, or the other way around).

    The ratepayer wishing to have their details withheld from publication in the CRID needs to put their request in writing, then:

14. How can I see the private drains/services?

    Underground services and drainage are displayed as an optional layer of the map. Refer to GIS map layers section to find out how to view underground services.

15. My legal address differs to the actual address at my property

16. What consents (building/resource) are issued on the property?

17. Can council print a map from Your Property and post or email it to me?

    The council does not print and post / email maps. This site has been designed to allow the customer to print or download a map (in Adobe PDF format) themselves. Printing services are available at the customer centre, Kotuku House, 4 Osterley Way, Manukau City.

18. Can you print the information for me at the customer centre?

    For technical reasons information from the Complete Rating Information Database (CRID) cannot be printed, but can from the publicly available website.
