What is a Land Information Memorandum?
A
Land Information Memorandum (LIM) (PDF 66k) is a report containing property information that the council has in its records.
The property information in a LIM can underline decisions about whether the land is suitable for any intended use in the future.
It is a good idea to obtain a LIM prior to purchasing or selling a property.
A LIM is likely to contain the following information:
- Official address
- Legal description of the area
- Zoning
- Resource consents and building consents
- Public works
- Map of property
- Site specific plans
- Government valuation
- Rates and water charges
- Sundry debts
- Pools registration
- Restrictions
- Licences
- Compliance schedules
- Requisitions (covering building, plumbing and drainage, pool fencing, dangerous goods, health, fire and egress, and planning).
