Contracting with council.

Where appropriate, Manukau City Council purchases goods, works and services from outside organisations and individuals to assist it to meet its service delivery obligations.

Selection of contractors

Contractors to council are selected using a range of processes as appropriate to the value and type of goods, works and services being purchased.   These include requesting tenders, proposals or quotations.

Council endeavours to undertake these processes in accordance with sound business practice and to act fairly and ethically in the appointment of its contractors.

Manukau City Council uses the Local Government Online electronic tendering service to advertise most of its public tenders, with a summary advertisement in the New Zealand Herald.   View current council tenders at www.lgtenders.co.nz

Contracts

Council uses a range of contracts depending on the value and type of purchase, from purchase order terms and conditions to formal signed contracts.

It also uses purchasing cards for simple low value purchases.   Here you can view council's Purchase Order Terms and Conditions (PDF 62kb).
